Moving the dressage piece forward- My next work

One of the work that I need to move forward after Christmas is that lovely dressage work. For the moment, the balance of the work is not right.

I will take pictures of the other side as I prefer the unfinished side. This work has been now in my studio for the last 3 months....hanging around. time to move it forward as I had enough time to "think it".

sketches - ( dessins, etudes et croquis)

Little foals study - sketch for a large painting in oil ( may be)....or may be some more sketches in Pastel....will see.
I also use them for new sculpture studies ( more on Ronald I and Ronald II)

voici 2 petites etudes sur les poulains, cela me servira certainement pour faire une peinture plus large a l'huil ou bien en peu de craie et pastels. mais aussi pour faire de nouvelle sculptures  ( suite de Ronald I et Ronald II).

This is a sanguine sketch for Ronald I sculpture.
( Voici un petit croquis en sanguine qui m'a servi a faire la sculpture Ronald I)

The Society of  equestrian artist exhibition is currently held in Newmarket from the 1st Oct until the 17th Oct.

Today, I was watching the Channel 4 racing and to my surprise, the exhibition was talked about. The Camera went across showing a number of works from Paintings to sculptures... including my work!! such an amazing feeling to see my work on TV.

I am hoping to be able to drive to Newmarket to see the exhibition but not sure when.

New Commission- levade for the king troops

I have a new commission to do for the King troops, a 30cm high Silver horse performing the "levade" between Pillars.
very interesting work to do around classical dressage.

The levade is a "haute ecole" movement where the horse is balanced on its haunches at a 45 degree angle from the ground. It requires great control and balance, and is very strenuous. The famous 2 pillars were used for training.
